Urban Development

Building stronger, more inclusive and sustainable urban communities.

Description

CFSD works with urban communities to improve living conditions through an integrated approach to land rights, housing, basic infrastructure, livelihoods, health, education and the urban environment. We believe that sustainable development is possible when communities are actively involved in identifying their needs and participating in solutions.

Our work focuses particularly on supporting urban slum communities in accessing land rights and tenure security, government services and development opportunities. CFSD works in coordination with government agencies, local institutions, community leaders and other organisations to help communities participate in development processes and access available support.

Community Participation

Community participation is central to CFSD’s approach. We support residents in understanding their rights, completing necessary documentation, participating in surveys and engaging with government systems. Through this participatory approach, communities become active partners in planning and implementing improvements that affect their lives.

What we’re working on

Projects We Are Doing Under Urban Development

Tenure & Land Rights Camps

CFSD works with urban slum communities to support access to land rights and tenure security. The organisation conducts slum mapping, socio-economic surveys and documentation of eligibility records and coordinates with government authorities for further processing.

Community Mapping & Socio-Economic Surveys

CFSD conducts mapping exercises and household-level socio-economic surveys in urban settlements to understand community needs and document eligibility for development programmes.

Namaste Profiling

It's community-level household data collection process used to identify and document slum households for urban development initiatives. The profiling process helps capture household information and supports access to programmes related to land rights, housing and basic services.
